LokPal Bill is not the final solution;it is one of the steps

World Cup 2011 and cricket mania is over and now it’s time for Anna Mania before IPL4 mania takes over. 🙂

yes I am talking about Anna Hazare , the man who sat for Fast and continuing with his fast against corruption and the agitation spread like wildfire on social networks, drew people onto the streets in several cities and dominated media. This support has just been growing and has forced the government to soften its stand on the agitation which, on day one, it described as a proxy battle on behalf of the government’s political opponents.

There is so much discussion around right from doubting Anna Hazare’s motives behind this fast, can civil society be part of drafting, whether LokPal helps to solve the corruption completely in India and the choice and reaction of Indian public on this fast and subsequent incidents. Let me take one by one.

1) Doubting Anna Hazare and his wisdom and intentions doesn’t have any value and the fact remains that his agitations have caught public imagination, made heads roll, and played a big role in toppling governments and helped to solve some important issues in the past. If corruption is our reality, all of us are collectively responsible; we should thank him and team for reminding us.

2) Technicalities and legalities that civil society cannot be part of the drafting process has  no value as Hazare was part of so many drafting of LAWS like RTI in Maharashtra and same was drafted through collaboration & participation of all stakeholders even in the centre. We can have a LokPal law & Anti corruption law in the same manner. If having Anna Hazare or any other person is an objection, why cant we have credible names such as Justice Santosh Hegde, Prashant Bhushan, Shanti Bushan and others, to be part of the committee to draft the Lokpal Bill? If there is a Will, there is a way and u get more and more credible names to be part of this Group. Anna Hazare himself said if you have any names that one feel objectionable, let us know, we can discuss.

3) Both the bill proposed by the civil society and the bill Govt may have flaws; however it won’t take away the main purpose of having such a bill. When a joint drafting group is formed, one can get best points in both bills, take some more ideas around and have a final draft, which is a better way of drafting rules, rather than saying this is wrong and that is wrong and hence we can’t have a Bill. 🙂

4) Final Question that need to be answered is will LokPal bill solves the corruption forever in a single day or is just only one simple step? Unfortunately, seems people became super optimists that we can do this in single day and immediately becoming super pessimists that we can’t do it on single day 🙂

In my view, LokPal is only one of the many steps to eradicate the Corruption in Indian society. Much more needs to be done now to make LokPal Bill work as follows;

  1. Empowerment of local bodies: Local bodies and Panchayati Raj institutions like gram sabhas, Panchayati samitis, taluka samitis and zilla Panchayatis must be empowered by the central government under the 73rd amendment to the Constitution. This is a long pending demand and must be achieved.
  2. Create similar Lokayukta structure in states by having the same or similar laws. Get the CM and PM under this law.
  3. Facilitate the detection, investigation and prosecution of corruption and money laundering, and the recovery of stolen assets. Discuss the proposed emendations to the Indian penal section and solve corruption in police and Judiciary systems and do constitutional amendments to bring the change.
  4. Key government agencies must have sufficient operational independence and autonomy to ensure freedom from undue influence or interference and Staff of key government agencies must have appropriate skills, receive adequate training, and maintain high professional standards. Like in Private sector, have a system where the services of the Govt sector are subjected to review and a standard service processes would need to be evolved. All promotions must be linked to the level of service a Govt employee adheres like in private sector.
  5. Electoral reforms : Most of the times, Corruption starts from selecting the party candidate until the elections are over and then politicians looks to recollect the money spent on the elections by indulging into corruption. Electoral reforms are necessary where the source of funding of Parties should need to be investigated.

Modern governments, be it in India or Middle East or anywhere else has lost in understanding how they want to deal with the 21st century citizens. Old style ruling of the countries is gone; Politicians must come and talk to people and understand them.

In My Perspective, this movement is not only about Anna, kiran bedi, swani agnivesh etc and no single person is leading this and the lead is coming from the people only and shouldn’t stop with LokPal bill. All 1.2B people can’t go and talk to the govt and hence,  prominent people are used as tools and facilitates for a mechanism to talk to the government.

We shouldn’t think corruption can be eradicated in one day with one BILL and the things will have to be systematic and reforms will have to come on every corner. Any anger require focus and we must keep our focus and use our energy in a constructive manner to achieve the goals in a larger perspectives.

Today India is the eleventh fastest growing and vibrant economies in the world. With the strong growth rate, defense power and foreign influence it is the country that has the capacity to project dominating power and influence anywhere in the world. With the possessions of the fourth largest air force, third largest education system, second largest standing army, numerous BPOs and KPOs and over 410,000 employees, India may plausibly attain the status of global hegemon one day. But to become a super power and to achieve mush faster growth rate, it need to fix the cancer of Corruption first.

Go India……………. Go…… DIKHAAADOOOOOO………..

World Cup 2011 – A die-hard Indian cricket fan’s reaction

I am a die-hard cricket fan, has been watching and following this from the age of 10, the Passion which has been inherited from my father; I was born and brought up in a small village called TAADUVAI, in GUNTUR district on the banks of Krishna River, AP, where my father used to work as a teacher. I remember those days when my father bought the first Black & White Portable TV, the first one in that village, we don’t have the electricity connection to that village, my father bought a Battery, which was used in tractors in villages; he used to take that BATTERY to a near by MANDAL HEAD quarter called ATCHAMPET and used to charge it every week; if you charge it for 24 hours, you can use it for 8 hours continuously.

I was 6 when 1983 WC happened; whenever there was a cricket match, whole of the village used to gather in my house; it’s like a cinema hall, at that time I was young and doesn’t know what cricket is all about and even don’t know what the world cup was and how many teams will be in it. Once the matches r over, in the evening, my father used to tell me and I am the first spectator for his end match analysis 🙂 He is HARSHA BHOGLEY, SIDDU, SUNNY and Ravi in all him, he used to tell me how Kapil, Gavaskar, Mohinder etc used to play, how they won the World cup. I barely understood anything, however it became night sleeping stories for me, and I used to get into the sleep listening to my own father’s analysis in his own style  🙂

In 1987, when I was at the age of 10, WC came to Sub-Continent, the first match I saw was the match  against AUS, which we lost by just one run, I still remember how Sidhu and Srikanth played in that match, India slowly progressed in that WC, but finally Indian world cup campaign ended in the Semis against England.

Slowly I got older and older, my Passion for cricket also gone greater, greater and greater……….

My passion for cricket used to make me watch most of the matches between 1987-1992, those r the days only DD is available and the DD commentary, especially the HINDHI one was comical and that’s how I even learned my Hindi as those r the days, there is no Hindi subject until SSC, so most of my HINDHI was from these cricket matches only. We used to wake up early morning 2AM to C cricket matches that played in AUS, NZ when India went to tour them, used to be awake in the nights when the matches played day and night in SHARJAH, this is where I got to get to know and tasted first time the ARCH rivalry between IND – PAK, where even INDIA’s flags were burnt on some days. 😦

There comes another world cup in 1992, one of the worst world cups India ever played, It only won 2 of its 8 matches, knocking it firmly out of contention for the semi-finals. India ended seventh on the table, above only Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

1996 WC is the first World Cup, which we started seeing the matches in the Color TV. India was the co-hosts of this 1996 Cricket World Cup along with Pakistan and Sri Lanka and was expected to perform well. This is the WC, where India played its QF final against Pak and the tensions were high and India beat them and entered into the SF to play with Sri Lanka. The SF against SL was one of the first matches I saw where crowds disturbed the match and ICC awarded the match to Sri Lanka. This is the match where Vend Kamble saw coming out with tears when India lost 7/22 to slump to 8/120 when the match ended abruptly.

Next is the World Cup 2003, 2007 where the Indians showed progress thru Sachin, Dravid and Ganguly, but very close to be champions in 2003, but not yet there. In 2007, India was thrashed in the 1st round.

There comes the WC 2011, India started well against Bangladesh, tied their second match against England, Won easily against Ireland , Netherlands , lost against South Africa, where they  lost their last 9 wickets in 9 overs, beat WI. There came the two cracker of games where India beat AUS in QF and PAK in SF and reached the final to meet Sri Lanka.
It’s April 02, 2011. The WC final between India and SL. For the 22 men who took the field today, it was probably the biggest moment of their lives, and it was all about stepping up and making it count. At the start of the game Zaheer did just that. At the end of his first spell, his bowling figures read: 5-3-6-1. The Indian bowlers were on the money and didn’t let the Lankans blaze away. A fine innings from Sangakkara and a master class from Jayewardene showed the world that it takes a lot of courage, temperament and skill to deliver when it matters the most. A good batting power play helped them post a mammoth score of 274. Mind you, chasing 275 in the final of a World Cup in front of 40,000 supporters and against a strong bowling attack was an easy task by no means.

Sehwag gone first and Sachin later, However after 28 yrs, we finally won the world cup again by beating all the prior world cup champions in this tournament to lift the cup woooohooooo. The biggest strength of this Indian team is having a captain who doesn’t care for history or records. Uncluttered mind.

No Jayewardene ton had ended in defeat. No World Cup final ton had ended in defeat. No home team had won the WC on their home turf until today. All history records broken and INDIA WON THE WORLD CUP and ARE THE WORLD CHAMPIONS OF ICC CRICKET WORLD CUP 2011; against all odds, with little contribution from Sachin in the final, the Young Brigade has done it. Picture perfect send off to SACHIN on his last world Cup Match.

Looking at the following picture, it’s only fair to say, the Indian cricket is in the safe hands and on the strong Shoulders.

All these days, I had enough of my parents, uncles, etc, telling stories of Kapil and the 1983, This is my gen, I need to make stories too and yes, today I can make a story out on April 02, 2011, I don’t need to listen old 1983 stories now, I am part of this and now I will start telling the stories how india won the WORLD CUP in 2011 and wt we witnessed, the captain cool DHONI reserving his magic to the final, Young brigade winning the world, the self belief, the Guru Gary, Sachin’s contribution to this team for the last 20 years, his records, his profile, wt not?????

You want to understand New India? Go and visit India tonight. Pick any street corner. It’s like a   of joy and self-confidence. As Steve jobs says when u look back and connect the dots everything falls in place. For me Mohali and wankhede cause for double celebrations.

Poll Bazar – Tamil Nadu – Do you want to see India corruption free nation?

Do you agree that in India, corruption is the religion of India?
Do you want to see India corruption free nation?
Are you selfish or you wanted to do something for India?

First thing all educated people should vote properly and should know the persons who stands for election and their background.

Following is the graphic that depicts the two major parties that promised free items and asking the Tamil Nadu people to sell their votes by promising all the Free Bees.

If someone can get to power easily just by promising freebies that might or might not be given after acquiring the chair in my opinion isn’t fair democracy. It is corruption or creating greediness among voters. Huge discounts are fine, but freebies are not accepted.

One must understand the basic fact that these two are en-cashing the weakness of the people.   Where these people get laptops, rice, grinder, mixer blender, are they have millions acre of cultivated land which produced million tons of paddy and they give free 20 kg. rice to the people and may they have laptop and kitchen equipment production Industry by which they could distributed among the TN POPULATION?.

They will spend public money and get kick backs to last for another 50 generations of swindlers.  Now the statistics from TN reveals the current debt is 1 lakh crore. The public in Tamil Nadu desreve these jokers as leaders. We get the leaders we select. When we stop worshipping them, we can throw them out

Let’s give chance to the YOUNG GENERATION AND EDUCATED PERSONALITIES. Look for Alternatives and you will find some arround,
